So here is a YouTube video that I took riding down Pine St in the morning. Life is not perfect out there--One cyclist was riding the wrong way, another was on the sidewalk and there were vans and construction equipment blocking the lane but on the whole it appears that the world of motorists and residents has not come crashing down. Life on Pine St in Center City goes on but with happier cyclists and calmer traffic.
Look for more of these videos on our website in the next few weeks.

Looks glorious!
I would have called out that wrong-way rider...
i've called out wrong way riders a couple times and have been called all kindsa names. Love philly.
This morning I walked from 20th to 15th Street and back along spruce. (had an errand and it was really too windy to ride). On both spruce and pine streets on this 5 block area the bike lanes were packed with cars parked for church. I know the pilot program is almost over but this issue really needs to be addressed if these lanes are going to be permanent.
Chrissy, as I understand it the church/synagogue parking is a "tolerated" violation and was allowed in the traffic lane before the bike lanes were put in. This is part of the bargain with the local community to get the lanes put in.
Someone from the Coalition please correct me if I am wrong.
Why is church parking a "tolerated" violation? No taxes and free parking in the travel lane? I'm setting up a religious cult, then -- the Church of free, green, healthy transportation.
