On Thursday May 24th NJDOT will cut the ribbon on the Route 52 Causeway. The 400 million dollar causeway replaces a narrow two lane road with a draw bridge that banned bicycles and pedestrians. The causeway includes a ten foot wide multi-use path crossing Great Egg Harbor connecting the Pleasantville to Somers Point bikeway to Ocean City Bike Route 1.
Cyclists will assemble at 10AM at John F. Kennedy Park, 55 Broadway in Somers Point, NJ. The State DOT will be leading a ride across the causeway for the ribbon cutting in Ocean City. If you are interested in attending please RSVP to Debbie Kingsland - debbie.kingsland at dot.state.nj.us.
