Want To Make Spring Garden Street Better? Share Your Ideas This Tuesday

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council is taking on a project that's sure to interest Philly bicyclists: Spring Garden St. Specifically, how to make that street a better place to walk, bike, drive, take transit, and generally use.

Have an idea to make Spring Garden a better street? They and we want to hear it! (We're on the Steering Committee for the project, which we were told comes with big admiral's hats.)

What: Community Design Workshop for the Spring Garden Street Greenway
Date: Tuesday, December 6th
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: German Society of Philadelphia (611 Spring Garden St)
Free rsvp online: http://sgsg.eventbrite.com

This is your opportunity to voice your opinion and ideas, and influence the design for a new and improved Spring Garden Street.

Car Free in Philly said...

Argh, I can't make the meeting! But someone PLEASE ask the city to make the Spring Garden St bridge safer for cyclists and pedestrians going westbound across 76. The faded blue stripe on the bike lane does absolutely nothing to protect cyclists attempted to continue straight with cars merging onto the highway. The intersections at Pennsylvania Ave/22nd/Spring Garden and Spring Garden/Eakins Oval are also very dangerous due to cars turning right without looking for cyclists. Thanks!
