Boy injured in bike-car crash
A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday when he was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Durham Road.
The accident occurred at 5:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Durham Road when the boy, who lives in Foxwood Manor Apartments, was riding his bicycle with a friend when he was struck. The boy was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown and then transferred to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, police said.
The driver of the car was Stephen Dougherty, 59, of Langhorne. Police said the bike rider darted in front of Dougherty, who had no time to stop.
