Philly Bike Share On Agenda at Seven Community Meetings Starting Today

Bike share is coming! Bike share is coming!

The business plan for bike share in Philadelphia was completed in August and the search for a vendor is on. Philadelphia will soon see an expansion of the public transportation system through short-term, on-demand bicycle rental (aka bike share). Bike share has been transforming cities in the US and throughout the world by providing convenient, affordable transportation for those short trips that SEPTA doesn’t cover and where a car just doesn’t make sense. Free yourself from the bonds of parking angst. Use bike share to run a quick errand or complete your commute by rail or bus!

Hear all about bike share this fall as Aaron Ritz, Active Transportation Coordinator for the City of Philadelphia, makes the rounds of civic associations to bring you up-to-date on the progress so far and to have your questions answered.
