Public Meetings This Week Discussing Future Philly Trails and Parks

Parks and Recreation and the Planning Commission are jointly holding a public meeting tonight (9/30) at 6:00 pm at the Juniata Golf Course to get input on the feasibility study of the Frankford Creek. This trail would link the Tacony Creek trail down to the Delaware River. This study was funded by DVRPC's Regional Trail Fund.

Philadelphia Parks and Recreation is also holding two of four public meetings this week - September 30th & October 2 - to help it create a vision for East-West Fairmount Park. This is a great opportunity to weigh in on how East-West Park are managed, path conditions along MLK Drive and Kelly Drive, directional signage, etc. If you feel strongly about any of these issues, then take this opportunity to have your voice heard.

September 30th
6:30 - 8:30 pm

The October 2nd meeting will be at Lloyd Hall from 6:00-8:30 pm.

UPDATED: A New Jersey trail is receiving its ribbon cutting tomorrow. Announcement below:

We are delighted to announce the official opening of the BMS Princeton Pike / The Lawrenceville School segment of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail. This segment starts at the historic Brearley Oak and continues on a rolling path through the scenic Bristol-Myers Squibb property on the corner of Princeton Pike and Lewisville Road. It continues across the Lawrenceville School athletic fields to connect with the trail through campus. In addition to the ribbon-cutting, we will take this opportunity to celebrate our eleven-year journey to create the trail and to acknowledge the people who have supported us and made the trail and our success possible.
