This weekend we are joining forces with The Hacktory, Public Workshop, and Schuylkill River Development Corporation to shed some light on the best little-unknown section of The Circuit: the Gray's Ferry Crescent.
The Crescent is a piece of the Schuylkill River Trail that curves around the eastern side of the Schuylkill River in between University Avenue Bridge and the Gray's Ferry Bridge in South Philadelphia. (See it on a map here.)
The inaugural event of the Hacktory's Light Up the Crescent is a "Firefly Swarm," or lighted bike parade, that will happen tomorrow (Wednesday) at Rittenhouse Square and meander down to the Gray's Ferry Crescent, collecting people along the way. Grab a bike, wrap it and yourself in as many lights or glowing things as you can, and join the ride! Bicycle Coalition staff are meeting up with the parade at 7pm at the SW corner of Rittenhouse Square. We need more bicyclists! Please join us! This will be a family-friendly event.
