Manayunk Towpath Closed By Bridge, Train Seeing Eye To Eye (yuk yuk)

We have learned that the Manayunk Towpath is closed from Cotton Street north to Carson Street due to a train hitting an iron truss bridge.

It seems a too-tall freight train car hit the bridge, which in turn knocked over a tree and at least one utility pole.

Main Street will be the detour while the debris are cleaned up. No word yet on when the Towpath will be reopened.
