New Map Of Bike Parking Locations In Philadelphia

Back in October, we entered two data sets into the OpenDataRace: bike theft data, and bike parking locations. Open Data Philly announced last week that the City of Philadelphia has released its bike parking locations data in GIS. Developer Mark Headd answered the call to make it even more accessible by bringing that data onto the web.

The map (linked below) consolidates the bike parking that has been installed by the City since 1997, including the first round of adopt a rack and the parking meter conversion. (The BCGP adopted all the racks at SEPTA stations). The on-street bike corral at Walnut & Sydenham was not included in this list. Privately installed bike racks such as those at Citizens Bank Park are also not included.
