Welcome Back Tom Branigan!

Delaware Avenue Trail (East Coast Greenway)

Tom Branigan, the Streets Department engineer behind the 200 miles of bike lanes installed in the late 1990s and early 2000s who retired in 2007, will be the new Executive Director for the Delaware River City Corporation (DRCC) in January 2011.  We're excited to have Tom back in the world of trail and bicycle infrastructure planning, design and construction.   We're especially excited that he'll be focusing on Northeast Philadelphia and the Delaware Riverfront.  DRCC has many worthy greenway and park projects that Tom will be in charge of, not the least of which is building a section of the East Coast Greenway along Allegheny Avenue from Richmond Street to the Betsy Ross Bridge, funded in part by the TIGER 1 grant that the City received in February 2010.  Welcome back Tom!
