Action Alert - Newtown Township Supervisors May Reject Multi-Use Path

Tonight the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will vote on a scope of work for the Stoopville Road improvements project, which includes a multi-use trail. Some Supervisors are proposing to eliminate the trail and using the money for another project (safety improvements on Swamp Road).

Stoopville Road has become a through route for quarry trucks in a mostly residential area. A local advocacy group Residents for Regional Traffic Solutions has pushing for an alternate truck route and creating a calmer Stoopville Road. The multi use path will allow local residents to bike and walk along this busy traffic corridor.

If you live or bike in Newtown or Wrightstown or Upper Makefield Township then please attend tonights meeting (7:30 PM Newtown Township Building) and state your support keeping the trail in the scope of the project.
