Write to Congress to Complete the Trails

On March 11th, bicyclists and walkers and trail users from around the country convened in Washington DC to advocate for better policies and laws to improve bicycling and walking in cities, towns, the suburbs and rural areas across America.  A contingent of bicycle and walking advocates from the Philadelphia-Camden region met with the staff our Congressional Representatives and Senators to thank them for supporting our TIGER application that granted a $23 million award to our region for 10 multi-use path trails.  We hand delivered copies of the petition which over 4000 of you signed declaring your support for Completing the Trails.

We also asked our representatives in Congress to support continued funding of additional trail segments to complete the Schuylkill River Trail and East Coast Greenway in PA.  In particular, Appropriation Requests had been submitted for the 58th Street Greenway, Gray's Ferry Crossing, West Bank Schuylkill River Connector, Wissahickon Gateway, Ivy Ridge Trail, Manayunk Bridge, Spring Garden Avenue and the Bristol Delaware Riverfront Greenway, all of which are on this
map.

Now is your opportunity to
send a letter to your Congressional Representative and Senators Specter and Casey to asking them to support these requests. Please personalize this letter and send it today.

Hearing from you will demonstrate to our elected officials that there is widespread public support for Completing the Trail and will encourage them to support funding these trail projects.
