Schuylkill River Trail Closings Ahead

Schuylkill River Trail Closings Ahead

Montgomery County is announcing that the Schuylkill River Trail in Plymouth Township will be closed periodically for construction activities. Beginning in November, a new short line railroad line will be installed adjacent to the Trail between Conshohocken and Norristown, which will require short term Trail closures.

The work will take place for a period of two months, weather permitting. Bicyclists and pedestrians should take note that flagmen will stop traffic on the Schuylkill River Trail during times when heavy equipment or grading activities may compromise the safety of the Trail user. These closures will be for short duration and are expected to occur during daytime hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

It is advised that Trail users who contemplate using the Trail for recreation or commuter activities be prepared for delays. Most closures will not be for more than ½ hour at a time. Signs have been placed on the trail approaches to the construction work, warning the Trial user of possible closures.
