Cyclist Killed on US 130

Cyclist Killed on US 130

NJ's second bicycle death in two weeks occurred on Route 130 in East Windsor Township just outside of Hightstown in Mercer County on July 25th.

From the Trenton Times

A man trying to cross Route 130 on a bicycle was killed in a collision with a car near the Windsor Hights shopping center, police said yesterday. Manuel Pancheco, of the Orchard Apartments in the township, was not wearing a safety helmet when struck on the northbound lanes at about 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He suffered serious traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue authorities.

Coincidently the West Windsor Bicycle Pedestrian Alliance is launching an Hightstown Bicycle Safety outreach program which will target the bicycling Hispanic population in the Hightstown area.
