Popular Cyclist Dies

Bruce Frech, a popular local cyclist, advocate, member of the Bicycle Coalition and Suburban Cyclists Unlimited died in an auto accident on PA 926 outside of West Chester while driving to a bike ride on Saturday.

A memorial service to be held this Saturday, February 5th.
St. James United Church of Christ
321 Limerick Road
Limerick Township, PA

Friends may visit with the family at the church from 1-1:45 p.m.
The service will begin at 2 p.m. followed by a reception.

Went out searching for this guy and found this page. Sorry to hear about this. According to Sheldon Brown, Bruce was the guy who coined the term "brifter" in cycling, and that's neat.

Well here it is, 2013, and I just found this page. Bruce was a friend of mine, as was his brother Jac, at the bike shop. Great guy Bruce is. Made an impression on my life as a 14 year old kid and I looked up to him. Now I'm 50, and just found out he passed, after contacting Jac after almost 15 years. Rest in peace friend. I hope this page lives on another 5 years or longer, like your memory has lasted with me, Bruce.

Bruce was great. I road with him for years at UVA. He was a good friend and always there for support. Wild sense of humor!
