SEPTA R5 Shuttle Buses
For the first time SEPTA will try to run buses with bike racks on substitute bus service this weekend.
PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 29, 2003) – SEPTA will operate shuttle buses
between Thorndale and Paoli Stations on regional rail Route R5 this
Saturday, November 1 due to an Amtrak track project.
SEPTA will try to assign a low-floor bus with a bike rack on substitute bus service tomorrow.
Whitford station will be served by a van shuttle which will not be bike accessible.
Thanks to Brian Vittulli at SEPTA for helping to arrange this.
Shuttle buses will represent R-5 train service between Thorndale and Paoli Stations starting at 8:13 a.m. inbound from Thorndale and 9:00 a.m. outbound from Paoli. This shuttle bus service will remain in effect throughout the remainder of scheduled train service for that day. Trains will continue to operate as far as Malvern. Whitford will be serviced by a small van and will operate between Whitford and Paoli Stations. Inbound shuttle bus riders arriving at Paoli Station will experience delays of up to 15 minutes waiting for the next inbound train and should plan their commute accordingly.
For additional service information, call SEPTA at (215) 580-7800 or visit
SEPTA online.
